STATE CHAMPS! Pioneer defeats Loogootee 3-1 to win the 2020 IHSAA Volleyball Class A Tournament

MUNCIE — The Pioneer Lady Panthers defeated the Loogootee Lady Lions in four sets (25-23, 27-29, 27-25 & 25-22) on Saturday, November 7 to win the 2020 IHSAA Volleyball Class A State Championship at Worthen Arena at Ball State University.

The championship match was a monumental clash between two solid teams; however, the Lady Panthers (30-3) remained poised on the big stage and made enough plays to claim the program’s first volleyball state championship in school history.

Hailey Cripe led the Lady Panthers with 22 kills and 27 digs; while, Madison Blickenstaff had a double-double of 13 kills and 14 digs.  Olivia Brooke finished with 38 assists, 21 digs and five kills; while, Mackenzie Walker contributed 21 digs, eight kills and seven assists.  Mackenzie Robinson added 15 digs, and Carlie Morris totaled 15 digs and two aces.  Kennedy Corn floored three blocks, and Brooklyn Borges had three kills.
